Nice to hear from you. Tell us your experiences with your PHEV.
I bought the first BMW i3 (Rex with DC charge circuitry) in NYS Capital of Albany, NY (June 2014) and traded it for the last Panamera Hybrid in PA's capital of Harrisburg, despite taking a financial bath on depreciation. The i3 was a great car--as a second car--but trying to make it work in a one-car household was too confining. That, combined with the lack of charging stations--even on the NYS Thruway's fuel stops--really provoked my move to more ICE-oriented PHEV.
I realize that the Panamera was a step backward in PHEV technology (like a glamorous Prius...), but it is very handsome, comfortable, fast and solid. Prior to the i3 I had driven high-performance 5 series BMWs for 30 years, so I welcome the power and speed at a slightly lower gasoline premium. I just refilled my tank for the first time and am headed for 600 miles. So far, so good, on winter wheels and tires. I look forward to warmer weather, remounting the gorgeous Turbo wheels and maybe even an extra mile or two on e-range.
