They liked the drivability, hybrid tech, and the plush interior. They didn't like that it 'somewhat lacks the feel of a Porsche'

Overall rating, 8 out of 10.

Quote:
The 2015 Porsche Cayenne is available in a total of seven different variations. Models include a diesel version with 240 horsepower all the way up to the 570 horsepower Turbo S. It’s a veritable smorgasbord of offerings from the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen automaker and a sure sign of the longevity the Cayenne family has enjoyed since its introduction to the North American market in 2003.

One of, if not the most interesting model in the line-up, is the 2015 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid. It straddles the line between high performance sport SUV and ultra-low emission hybrid-electric luxury family hauler with go anywhere capability. If there is the possibility for the automotive equivalent of “having your cake and eating it too”, this may be it.

Report Card (out of 10):

Fuel Economy: 10– Superior fuel economy in combination.

Equipment level: 9 – Lacking in nothing.

Price: 7 – A unique SUV in a class of its own.

Styling: 8 – Looks like a Cayenne, which is a good thing.

Comfort (front): 9 – Exceptional seating; superb visibility.

Comfort (rear): 8 – Legroom is more than enough; optional heated seats.

Handling: 8 – Takes corners with ease; brakes on command.

Performance: 7 – A powerful combination for good, but lacks punch.

Storage: 8 – Plenty of storage space; plug-in cord takes up some of it.

Overall: 8 – A Cayenne that meets the requirements of next gen drivers.

Not much to see under the hood of the plug-in Cayenne

The cargo space isn't affected by the battery pack or electric motor - a welcome change compared to some other plug-in hybrid vehicles!
